YOUTH MINISTRY AT HERITAGE LUTHERAN:

Heritage Lutheran offers for the younger congregation ages 14 to 18, a fun way to explore God’s word that includes activities of fellowship, friendship, Bible study, worship, prayer, and service to others.  As a result,  lasting relationships are built with peers and dedicated adult counselors.  Bonds to Heritage and to our Lutheran faith are built and nurtured

Featured Activities of Our Youth Ministry

Heritage youth activities are fun!  Fun learning God’s Word together.  Fun spending time with good friends.  Fun serving the church and the community in new and exciting ways.

Voted the “Best” is the Annual Overnight Lock InJoined by youth from other congregations and from St. Croix High School, this past a weekend overnighter with a variety of activities was held at the Dodge Nature Center in St. Paul.  Movies, sledding, a mid-night hike in the woods, and of course a camp fire were only part of the event.   Devotions were conducted by the youth at intervals throughout the night.  Lots of snacks and food was also part of this extravaganza.

Our Heritage youth ministry focuses on teaching the key doctrines of Christ through adult-led Bible studies on Sunday mornings and at most youth functions and activities.  After all, there is no shortage of community programs for teens to get together and hang out. But where else can your youth gather and learn the pure doctrine contained in the Scriptures?

We also feel strongly that young people want and need opportunities to serve.  At Heritage youth have volunteered at the local “Feed My Starving Children” food bank. Youth have also served the congregation and community in a variety of other ways.  Last Christmas gifts were purchased, wrapped,  and provided to a young, deserving  family.   The importance of caring and giving to others is impressed upon our youth.  They learn the critical lesson of how just one person can make a difference.

Other fun events like The Super-Bowl Party, Minnesota Twins Games, Bon Fires at the church grounds, and Christian based Movies are all part of our Youth Ministry Program.

Other Areas of Interest for Our Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry would like to help the church with fundraising, and family sponsorship during Christmas in conjunction with Heritage’s Community Action Council and other charitable organizations.
